For 12 years the Osceola Riders supported BASE Camp Children's Cancer Foundation by providing a "Christmas in July" Party for their children. When OR first started it's affiliation with BASE Camp, BASE Camp had very little support within the community.

Over the years, support has grown dramatically for BASE Camp and its work. After a great deal of discussion by the membership of OR, it was determined that OR's support could make a much larger impact on another organization/organizations.

After several months of investigation, four organizations in Osceola County stood out as needing assistance. One of those organizations, The St. Cloud Food Pantry, needed immediate assistance to help keep its doors open.

A food drive was organized and in less than a month, a truck load of non-perishable food items was delivered to the St. Cloud Food Pantry a week before Christmas 2008. We left the pantry that day with a promise that we would do this again and again.

A second organization was brought to our attention again in early 2009. This organization is "The Oasis School Volunteer Program" and more specifically their "Dreams for Teens Program." This program works in conjunction with "The Osceola County School District" and identifies families with school age children that need help.

Many of these families are homeless, living in cheap motels, cars and some even in tents all along the Rt. 192 Corridor through out the Cities of Kissimmee and St. Cloud.

"Dreams for Teens" provides Christmas gifts for children in grades 6 thru 12 who are so often overlooked in place of younger siblings. All sixth through twelfth grade students in all middle and high schools are eligible. Students are referred by school social workers, guidance counselors and other district personnel. There is an application process for families and all names are kept confidential so as to not humiliate these kids.

In 2008 approx. 450 teens were helped and the estimate for 2009 is growing and expected to be well over 500.
